Blood Groups
All blood is made of the same basic elements, not all blood is like. In fact, there are eight different common blood types.
After donating blood, the body works to replenish the blood loss. This stimulates the production of new blood cells and in turn, helps in maintaining good health.
Blood is a specialized bodily fluid that delivers necessary substances to the body’s cells such as nutrients and oxygen and transports waste products away from those same cells. Blood comprises more than 8% of the bodyweight of a healthy individual.
On average, every adult person has about 5 to 6 liters of blood. The major component of blood is a fluid called plasma in which are suspended cellular elements. These are Red Blood Cells or RBCs, White Blood Cells or WBCs, and platelets.
